Hot Take: SimPRO 23.4.3

Welcome to the semi-regular-but-only-when-there's-something-noteworthy newsletter on simPRO updates, where I scan the latest releases and give you my tips on how to make the most of them.

Please note that like a punter at closing time, simPRO performs a staggered rollout, so it may be up to two weeks until the features below are available in your build.

Get Paid

If you use Square, you can now put dynamic payment links in your custom invoice forms. This is a no-brainer and you should do this today. It's very easy.

Just go to Setup > Forms Setup > Invoices > Form Builder > and select your invoice template.

Scroll to your how-to-pay section and add the Payment Integration Box field.

Add the Payment Integration field

It will add a Pay now button between the start and end fields. You could even put it on the top of the invoice right next to the date, or even one on each page.

When the customer clicks on the link it will open a new tab with the Square payment gateway. The invoice number, invoice total, finance charge and your business details will be pre-filled.

By the way, if you'd like to change the words 'pay now' or edit the look of the button, you can. Anything between the start and end fields will still work as a dynamic hyperlink.

Get Gantt

If you love your Gantt charts, but love other Gantt software even more, you can now export your Gantt charts to csv, which means they can be uploaded into other software such as MS Projects, Excel, Monday.com, Zoho etc. Nice.

If, like me, you're keen for a global Gantt chart in simPRO, feel free to vote on this idea.

Clock On police

Ever wondered if people are clocking on or off jobs from home or site, but don't have the bandwidth to check every job card and every day?

Now you'll know if someone is pulling your leg, with this new free tool.

It will pick up any job status updates that are more than 1km from the site address, and show you the nearest street address where the status update was actually completed.

It's just a spreadsheet tool for now, but will soon become part of the PRO Suite data tools collection.
